ChildUSA Annual Awards Dinner. Ardmore, PA — Balanced Bridge Funding is proud to be a Gold Sponsor of CHILD USA’s Second Annual Awards Dinner taking place on November 15th, 2018 at Union Trust in Philadelphia, PA. The event begins at 6:30 pm and includes dinner followed by several awards. Tickets are $200 per person and can be purchased at https://www.childusa.org/annualevent.
The following awards will be presented at the event:
- The CHILD USA Public Educator Award is being presented to renowned writer, director, producer, and Philadelphia native, Jennifer Fox. She will be receiving the award for her most recent feature, The Tale, which premiered at the 2018 Sundance Film Festival and launched on HBO Films in the U.S. and around the world to audience and critical acclaim, garnering many awards and two Emmy Nominations this year so far.
- The inaugural Barbara Blaine Trailblazer Award: The CHILD USA Trailblazer Award is being renamed in honor of Founder of SNAP, Barbara Blaine. The inaugural Barbara Blaine Trailblazer Award will be presented posthumously to Dr. Richard Sipe. Blaine’s vision and voice led countless survivors to come forward, an essential precursor to the #MeToo movement. Dr. Sipe is one of the earliest and most important intellects to critically analyze the Catholic priesthood in light of the clergy sex abuse scandal.
- The CHILD Protector Award is being presented to sister survivors, heroes, and advocates Rachael Denhollander, Jamie Dantzscher, Jessica Howard, and Sarah Klein. Each of these brave women have played integral roles in exposing predator and former USA Gymnastics team doctor, Larry Nassar. Jamie Dantszcher is an Olympian and Jessica Howard is a 3-time US National Champion in rhythmic gymnastics.
- The Sean P. McIlmail Hero Award will be presented to actor and whistleblower on child sex abuse in Hollywood, Corey Feldman. As a constant in the industry, Corey has appeared in over 100 films, completed eighty shows in his band’s mostly sold out US tour, and he recently had his first Top 40 Billboard hit single. In addition to his impressive background in entertainment, Corey is also a NY Times best-selling author for his 2013 autobiography Coreyography. Currently, he is working to turn the bestseller into a Major Motion picture, which will detail and expose the trials and tribulations of growing up as a child in an industry riddled with pedophilia.
